AVAD Opens in Houston

By RS Staff, September 30, 2008

Hollywood, FL--AVAD, distributor of custom home technology products, has added a new location in Houston, Texas. This distribution center was opened to address the needs of a growing base of custom electronic system contractors in the AVAD southwest territory. The branch is already operational.

The new branch covers 16,000 square feet, including a show room to display new products and highlight special offers, and 10,000 square feet of warehouse space to ensure availability of new items. It will also house AVAD's training program, including manufacturer-led product training, Dealer to Builder (D2B) program certification, and CEDIA Installer Level I preparation and testing. And with a new call center to provide technical support from installation to application, the Houston team is equipped to handle the demands of industry veterans and newcomers seeking the competitive edge within the custom installation field.

AVAD also has hired Elvin Grullon to its new corporate office in Hollywood, Florida, where he will work as the assistant to the head of purchasing. Grullon will work with the buyers group on special buys, forecasting, and vendor programs, as well as coordinating AVAD University training sessions. In addition, Grullon will serve as a liaison between AVAD and its marketing arm. Prior to joining AVAD, Grullon worked at Middle Atlantic Products in New Jersey as customer support manager.
