Indianapolis, IN--CEDIA has teamed up with AVAD, ADI and TAG in 2005 to expand its training and certification offerings.

"CEDIA's Certification Program reflects a dedication to setting the highest standards for professionals in the residential custom electronic design and installation industry," stated CEDIAs Jessica Shepherd. "From start to finish, CEDIA's Certification Program involves quality-conscious technicians and designers in an effort to promote to users that companies with CEDIA-certified employees offer uncompromising quality and expertise."

The certification program is comprised of three sections: Installer Level I, Installer Level II and Designer. To further advance the Designer certification program, Designer specialty certifications will be created and available to designer professionals in the near future. The year 2003 marks the year of development of the first Designer specialty certification: the Designer Home Theater Specialty certification. After the completion of the first specialty, subsequent Designer specialty certifications will then be created.

The certification exams are developed by CEDIA, in conjunction with nationally recognized subject matter experts, and under the guidance of psychometricians (professional test development specialists).
