By RS Staff, September 30, 2008

San Diego, CA--Pacific Media Associates' Pro AV Projector Tracking Service has reported Hitachi as the top brand in March (on a unit and revenue share basis).

The report listed Hitachi with a 26-percent share of unit sales, almost six points higher than the second-leading brand. Additionally, Hitachi had a 20 percent share of revenues, which eclipsed the second-leading brand by more than three points. Hitachi also boasted the two top selling models in March, with the CP-X251 3LCD projector taking an 11.8 percent unit share, followed by the CP-X260 3LCD projector, which had a five percent unit share.

The 2,000 ANSI lumen CP-X251 projector offers advanced functionality for the education market, including Hitachi's exclusive Input Source Naming function, which allows users to customize the names of their individual input sources. The CP-X251 also features two RGB inputs, MyScreen/MyMemory preset options, and a remote control with Hitachi's "MyButtons" function.

With 2,500 ANSI lumens of brightness, advanced connectivity and portability, the CP-X260 meets the needs of any classroom application. The CP-X260 features two RGB inputs, MyScreen/MyMemory preset options, and a remote control with Hitachi's "MyButtons" function. The CP-X260 also features a low 34dB noise rating (in Whisper Mode), 1:1.2 manual zoom, and digital keystone correction. Additionally, the CP-X260 addresses the issue of equipment theft in schools, as it is equipped with a security bar, Kensington security slot and transition detector (a sensor located inside the projector that recognizes when the projector has been moved).

"The Pacific Media Associates report is a reflection of Hitachi's commitment to performance, reliability and customer service," said Pete Denes, vice president of sales, Hitachi America Ltd., Ubiquitous Business Platform Systems Division, Business Group. "We look forward to a continued leadership position in the projector market as we ride our momentum into the education purchasing season."
