CEDIA University on the Road to Partner with Capitol Sales Learning Institute for Regional Outreach in 2009

By RS Staff, December 8, 2008

Indianapolis, IN -- Accessible, affordable and relevant CEDIA University education is one of CEDIA’s staple offerings to its members and the industry. CEDIA University’s CU on the Road program, which delivers popular technical and design training on a regional basis at discounted rates, is one core component in the effort to encourage continuing professional development.

In 2009, CEDIA University will partner with Capitol Sales Company to deliver six CU on the Road events throughout the U.S. The CU on the Road at Capitol Sales Learning Institute – Regional Outreach events will offer a range of curriculum for electronic systems professionals, including more than 80 manufacturer product training sessions.

Through this partnership, electronic systems professionals will have greater access to a variety of courses from CEDIA University’s Electronic Systems Technician and Electronic Systems Designer colleges as well as CEDIA Certification exams. In addition, program participants will be able to earn more than 15 continuing education units (CEUs) at each event – half of the 30 CEUs required over a three-year period to maintain a CEDIA Certification.

“Partnering with Capitol Sales Learning Institute gives our members and the industry a convenient and cost-effective way to obtain CEDIA education at the same time as learning from some of the industry’s leading manufacturers,” said Michael Creeden, CEDIA education content action team chairman. “CEDIA will continue to foster similar partnerships in order to bring the best possible education and training opportunities to our members in their area.”

Like CEDIA, Capitol Sales has played a visible role in providing training and education to the dealer community throughout its 34-year history. The company’s annual Dealer Education Training Showcase has enjoyed over a decade of continuous growth and success.

“As a long time dedicated supporter of CEDIA and its mission to raise the bar of professionalism for systems contracting companies, we are proud to have CEDIA join forces with us as a key partner in our effort to reach a broader community of residential installation professionals,” said Capitol Sales president and CEO Curt Hayes. “This much sought after mix of manufacturer training, CEDIA University education and certification is much desired on a regional level. Capitol Sales is pleased to offer it to the dealer community once again.”
