CEDIA Releases Expo 2009 Seminar Guide

By RS Staff, May 19, 2009

Cambridgeshire, England -- The CEDIA Expo 2009 Seminar Guide is out now, ready to help delegates navigate their way through CEDIA's most focused seminar programme ever.

"We've looked critically at the programme, considered the feedback from last year and talked things through with delegates, visitors, and exhibitors,” said CEDIA education chair, Simon Buddle. “The result is a tighter programme which gives delegates the best possible return on their investment by allowing them to balance their time more easily between training and the show floor."

The CEDIA Education Programme offers something for everyone; from entry level technical courses for new installers, to high-level business workshop classes for company owners. A blend of one- and two-day practical workshops, such as High Definition Distribution and HDMI and the new Home Cinema Design course, will run alongside shorter sessions provided in a four-hour time slot from 10am until 2pm on each show day.

The training seminars, which and all have a CEU value attached, include highlights such as: Selling to the Rich; Distributing Media Technologies, Integrating Gaming into the Home Environment and The Complete Guide to Working on Site. There is also the chance to get CEDIA Certified with Installer Level 1 plus, following its successful launch at Expo last year, the two day Home Cinema Design workshop returns to help those preparing to take this specialist exam.

On the show floor, a prestigious line-up of speakers will take their turn in the Seminar Theatre as part of a packed programme, headlined by Richard Farleigh of Dragon's Den fame. The impressive list also includes experts from BERR (UK Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform), Cisco Systems, the BBC, the BIDA (the British Interior Design Association), the BRE (Building Research Establishment) and BSkyB who will be talking about a diverse range of subjects from Smart Home Systems and the Code for Sustainable Homes, Connecting Communities, and The Intelligent Interior. The industry's very own Steve Moore and Mike Heiss will also be giving their own unique take on what's-not-to-be-missed at Expo 2009.  Details of all this, plus the wide range of Trade Supplier Product Training sessions on offer and the dedicated event for Interior Designers, are to be found online.

The CEDIA Expo education programme has always been a highlight in the industry calendar and this year is certainly no exception. And remember, visitors can take advantage of the current "two for the price of one" training session deal (excluding Certification) which is available to all delegates booking slots before June 5.
