Sanus Debuts New Product Categories and Booth

September 2, 2009

Sanus Systems, traditionally a manufacturer of audio-video mounts, furnishings, and consumer electronics accessories, will be debuting many new product categories at the 2009 CEDIA EXPO in Atlanta, GA, and a new booth design, which will showcase new AV furniture, mounts, speaker supports, AV equipment racks, and accessories.

New product categories on display will include the Sanus HDpro Series, a handpicked selection of Sanus products designed specifically for custom installation professionals. HDpro has been an up-and-coming category for Sanus. VisionMount full-motion mounts and AV Foundations equipment racks will be on display, as well.

Another new category is Sanus’ Super Slim mounts, available in two low-profile models (now shipping), which place flat-screen TVs just 0.55 inches from the wall, and a tilting model (shipping Q4 2009), which places a TV 0.82 inches from the wall. These mounts also offer post-installation height and leveling adjustment and can shift laterally on the wall plate for perfect placement between studs. Quick-release tabs stay hidden but easily pull down to unlock the TV from the wall plate. Sanus’ ClickStand holds the TV away from the wall for cable access without having to remove the TV from the wall. The Super Slim tilting and large full-motion models will be able to accommodate 16- or 24-inch on-center studs.

Sanus will also debut a brand new series of AV equipment racks, which the company says, offer Sanus quality at a competitive price. The first set in the series is the AV Foundations Component Series Racks. Models CFR115 (15U) and CFR127 (27U) offer a turnkey solution and come with side and rear panels and a lockable front door. The second set, the HDpro CFR518 (18U) and HDpro CFR535 (35U), are fully customizable and offer a deeper configuration of 711.2 mm for large components. All of the Component Series Racks feature heavy-gauge steel and vented back panels for increased airflow. Removable casters and adjustable feet allow in-cabinet integration or freestanding installation. The racks will ship pre-assembled, making integration easy for installers. Sanus also plans to release a full-suite of add-on rack accessories.

The third set in the series is the AV Foundations Euro Series Racks. The Euro racks offer an open-air, modular construction for the most flexibility. They ship with a sturdy base and the installer can purchase up to seven stackable shelves, depending on the installation, with five- and 12-inch pillar options.

Another new offering, Sanus Elements 1.3b HDMI cables, are designed to meet the highest performance standards for HD image and sound. Available in various lengths--some with an in-wall rating and a built-in amplifier--the HDMI cables feature a pivoting head that swivels 180 degrees for placement in hard-to-reach ports or behind wall-mounted TVs with less than an inch of clearance. A flexible cable material makes these easy to bend for flexibility in placement.

Sanus will also show off a new booth design, which is based on the company’s “Take a Closer Look” theme for CEDIA EXPO, meant to encourage visitors to focus on Sanus’ engineering and custom technologies, such as ProSet post-installation height and leveling adjustment, FollowThru cable management, and Adjustable Virtual Axis tilt. The new booth also includes various “style corners” to display the products as they would be in a home setting; new modular display walls; video scrolls on the back wall; a large reception area and private meeting rooms.
