Following its recent endorsement by famed film director Francis Ford Coppola, SIM2 has begun focusing more than ever on the custom integration market and its vertical development with a line of products that the company says has been designed to “satisfy the most discerning customer.”

SIM2 calls the C3X LUMIS UNO the first DC4 three-chip DLP priced below $30,000.

Defining this vision, SIM2 has added depth to its MICO line with three new models, the MICO CONNECT 60, MICO 50 ST and MICO CONNECT 60 ST. The company also added a new entry-point model, called the C3X LUMIS UNO Reference, to its three-chip DLP C3X LUMIS series, as well as the first home cinema three-chip DLP HYPER-COLOR equipped model and a dual-projector High Brightness 3D system.

The MICO series was recently launched with the MICO 50 model (MSRP: $21,995), featuring SIM2‘s PureLED technology for Home Cinema and Media/Living Room installations. Designed for use with large screen sizes (up to 10 feet wide) the MICO 50 features BrilliantColor technology, DynamicBlack, and EasyLED Software for professional calibration and control.

MICO CONNECT 60
The MICO CONNECT 60 (MSRP: $23,995) offers the same features of the MICO 50, with the addition of LAN and wireless connectivity. It also includes EasyLED Software for professional calibration and control.

MICO 50 ST and MICO CONNECT 60 ST
The MICO 50 and MICO 60 ST (Short Throw) models share the same key characteristics as the MICO 50 (MSRP: $22,950) and MICO CONNECT 60 (MSRP: $24,995), with the addition of an 0.67:1 lens, designed for use in rear-projection systems or anywhere an extreme short-throw lens is desired. Bright, crisp images of up to 100 inches can be achieved within a depth of less than four feet, according to SIM2.

For 2010, the three-chip DLP Grand Cinema C3X LUMIS Series offers more layers options within the line. Joining the C3X LUMIS HOST and C3X LUMIS are the C3X LUMIS UNO, C3X LUMIS HYPER-COLOR, and C3X LUMIS 3D.

C3X LUMIS UNO
Within its compact cabinet, the C3X LUMIS UNO projector (MSRP: starting at $29,999) conceals a trio of DC4 0.95-inch, 1080p DLP chipsets from Texas Instruments. This “entry-point” model is the first three-chip 0.95 chipset model to be priced at less than $30,000. Designed for use with large screen sizes (up to 15 feet wide) the UNO boasts 2000 ANSI Lumens and 9000:1 contrast ratio, according to the manufacturer.

C3X LUMIS HYPER-COLOR
The C3X LUMIS HYPER-COLOR (MSRP: starting at $41,995) is a three-chip reference model specifically designed with a motorized color filter option that allows for specified color standard requirements to be attained (e.g. DCI). This model is custom built to order, requiring a 30-day lead-time. Suitable for large screen sizes (up to 20 feet wide), the C3X LUMIS HYPER-COLOR comes with a five-year lamp replacement warranty as standard.

C3X LUMIS 3D
Designed for use in 3D theaters or high-end custom home cinemas, this projection duo (MSRP: $79,999, with lens options available) uses Infitec 3D filter technology with motorized 2D/3D filter selection and includes a mounting assembly with micrometric adjustment for accurate convergence. The SIM2 LUMIS 3D system does not require a silver screen material to operate correctly, allowing for optimum performance in 2D with normal content. Due to the high brightness of the units, the system can be set-up in redundancy mode for failsafe 2D entertainment. Four pairs of passive glasses are included.
