The state-of-the-art showroom is aimed at drawing in dealers, consultants, architects, designers and their clients.

AMX has branched out from its Richardson, Texas, digs and recently opened the doors to a chic, new showroom in New York’s Time Square.

Housed on the 24th floor of Bush Tower, a short distance from Bryant Park, the glass, steel, and wood showroom is the demonstration stage for more than 350 of AMX’s products, including its Modero line of touchpanels, NetLinx controllers, and the more commercially oriented Endeleo and Solecis signal management systems.

The state-of-the-art showroom is aimed at drawing in dealers, consultants, architects, designers and their clients with, in addition to an impressive demo area, a full time training center that will beginning hosting sessions next Monday as part of AMX University, a kitted out conference room with AV teleconference equipment, a 65-inch NEC plasma display, and DVD players, and a small business room for AMX employees and their guests to rest, call into the office, and check phone and email messages.

The conference room is equipped with a sophisticated AV teleconference system, as well as a 65-inch NEC plasma display.

The AMX New York Showroom marks another first for the industry, pushing the envelope of technology and showcasing the perfect marriage between technology and design,” said Jeff Kindig, AMX vice president of marketing strategy.

The showroom is driven by five separate control systems and one redundant control system powering nearly 300 third-party products from AMX manufacturer partners among them, Brivo Systems, Biamp Systems, Da-Lite, Lutron Electronics, NEC, projectiondesign, and Tandberg. Sub-systems such as the IT and phone networks--as well as lighting, motorized shading, security, HVAC and music systems--are fully integrated with AMX’s Resource Management Suite (RMS) to demonstrate real-time equipment monitoring and energy management. In total, the showroom includes more than three miles of network, audio/video, and fiber cables.

Kindig noted, during a recent press tour, that the showroom brings a level of convenience to AMX clients and dealers who would have had to fly to the company’s Richardson headquarters to experience all AMX has to offer. With the doors open on its first East coast showroom, the company hopes to expand the model in other locations around the country.

The AMX New York Showroom occupies the 24th floor of Bush Tower at 130 West 42nd Street.
